Daily Orphans-2 Justin Mott
I took this image on an assignment in Cambodia. This was the 3rd and final story that we did but we didn’t have time to finish this one while we were there. I’m not sure if and when the writer will get around to finishing it so I’ll leave out the details of the publication and what the story is about.
“This is a new series I hope will be a regular feature on my blog. I always hear fellow photographers(myself included) talking about how their editor didn’t use their best picture, they should’ve used the one that….the client wanted something more straightforward, any many more reasons a photograph is often left unseen. I like to call these photos “orphans”, and I occasionally come across them while looking through my archive.
Daily Orphans will feature photo orphans along with a small back story. The series is also meant to be an open dialog for photographers and non-photographers to comment on why they like or dislike a photo so please comment. Eventually I’d like to invite guest photographers to post their orphans but first I want to see how this series goes.
