I recently had a fun assignment to shoot a Tango Milonga in San Francisco, highlighting the recent popularity of Tango dancing in San Francisco.
Luckily, my lovely assistant happens to also be an avid tango dancer, so I added to the assigned work with some images of her preparing to go out on the town tango dancing… then I of course had to cover the gig, which was to shoot a tango event in a horribly lit ballroom. But, I did have fun and tried to make some artsier pictures for myself, while covering bases for the print folks. Fortunately, the editor I was working with enjoyed the artier images and played them well online.
The story can be seen here: Tango
